I am currently doing a side project to explore the implications of Free Software (free as in "free speech", not as in "free beer") in the artistic and collaborative music-making process as well as its implications in education at large. These days, I am using Ubuntu Studio for my computing, which can be downloaded at www.ubuntustudio.org. It is currently loaded up on my inherited MacBook Pro (5,5) and my iMac (8,1). I discovered Free Software while looking for solutions to the endless cycle of updates and restrictive practices that can hinder the creative process, research, and education. I am working together with Libre Boston to inform the public of the benefits of switching to Free Software. This page will have more details on my research and findings in the future.
